Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, 2019

10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Celebrate Earth Day in the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory Visitor Center

Our presenting sponsor Xcel Energy will be onsite to share how you can reduce your carbon footprint and make energy efficiency improvements in your home.

Stop by Xcel Energy’s tiny house to see energy conservation fixes you can do at your home. Find out how easy it is to make energy efficiency improvements in homes both large and small.  And for even more planet-friendly ideas be sure to ask about Renewable*Choice – a range of renewable energy programs to best fit your individual lifestyle.

Meet with our friendly volunteers to participate in family-friendly activities, crafts, and stations to learn about the animals and plants who call this planet home.

This year’s Earth Day celebrations are all about protecting species—including the butterflies, bees, and other beneficial bugs ready to burst to life in Como’s new pollinator garden opening on Memorial Day.

This will also be the opening weekend of the Summer Flower Show! Lavender, purple and peach will be the main colors of the 2019 Summer Flower Sunken Garden Show in the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory.
