We are thrilled that you will be joining us at Sunset Affair: Kaleidoscope on July 18, Como Friends’ summer celebration to benefit Como Zoo and the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. As we countdown to this great summer gala, there are a few things you might like to know about attending Sunset Affair this year:
Registration and Event Entrance: Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. Guests will enter at the registration tent located between the Carousel and Como Town. Be sure to check in to receive your program and table assignment.
Guests are encouraged to park in the Palm Lot, near the Carousel, in the Wolf Lot, located between Wolf Woods and Como Town, or along Midway Parkway. Volunteers will be standing by to show you the way, and golf carts driven by volunteers from Xcel Energy, our transportation sponsor, will be circulating to give guests a speedy delivery to the registration table. See the below map for specifics.
Dress Cool and Casual: Casual resort attire is the fashion at Travelers Sunset Affair, where the potential for tropical temperatures calls for light fabrics, comfortable shoes, flowing dresses, and can’t-go-wrong khakis and capris.
Event Space: Sunset Affair, activities are both inside and outdoors. The weather is predicted to be warm and humid, but there are plenty of places to find air conditioned respite. During the reception, the air-conditioned Visitor Center will be open and the auction will be in a cooled tent. Dinner is also served in the air-conditioned Visitor Center.
Charge your smartphone before you arrive at Sunset Affair to make sure you don’t miss your chance to bid on fantastic trips, unforgettable experiences, and one-of-a-kind gift items. The auction opens a day early! If we have your mobile number, you will receive a text message on Wednesday, July 17. To share your mobile phone number with us, email email@example.com or call 651.487.8229.
Como Friends never shares, trades or sells donor data so your cell number will only be used to send you information about mobile bidding the day of Sunset Affair. If you don’t have a smartphone, we will have a limited number of mobile bidding devices available for your use.
