Como Quest

The Como Quest is a digital scavenger hunt using the GooseChase App. Your team will take pictures, post videos, and answer questions across the Zoo and Conservatory all about the plants, animals, and conservation work at Como. Each task you complete in the GooseChase App earns you points towards your final score.

Each mission you complete in the GooseChase App earns you points towards your final score.

For example, a mission might be:

Polar Bear Odyssey: Training
Como is the second zoo in the country to obtain a voluntary blood sample for a polar bear—and designed the first “blood sleeve.” The bears are trained to place their front paw in the “blood sleeve” located in the Ecolab training station inside Polar Bear Odyssey. Find the blood sleeve and take a picture of it to solve this mission.

Como Quest is a team activity! Ticket are $20 per person and sold individually so you can build a team of any size. Children ages three and under participate for free. Your team includes all adults and children who are participating in the event. For the best experience, we recommend teams of 4-6 players per team.

Find Como Quest’s Base Camp on the map and join us for games and crafts, included with your ticket. In fact, some of them will be a mission you’ll need to complete to earn Como Quest points.

There will also be a few activities at Base Camp for an extra fee (no Como Quest points associated) that will help us raise money to support Como Park Zoo & Conservatory.

The event is set up to accommodate all ages and abilities. Handicap parking is available in the Palm Lot and all event spaces can be accessed either by ramps or elevator. The teams that are first, second, and third to complete all missions will win a gift card to Garden Safari Gifts for $100, $75, and $50 respectively.

Teams that finish over half the missions will be entered in a drawing to win a 3-in-1 tiger, red panda, and koi fish Lego set.

All winners will be announced at the 11:15 a.m. program at Base Camp.

Como Quest is a multi-generational, set-your-own-pace event! Based on feedback we’ve received, elementary and middle school aged children enjoy the event the most. Additionally, we found that teams composed of grandparents, parents, and kids all equally enjoy the experience.

Kids ages three (3) and under participate for free! For the littlest children, parts of the scavenger hunt will be challenging, but they will love being at the zoo and conservatory with their families! Ask for the Cubs Quest when you check in for the event to receive an age-appropriate activity for your youngest players.
